Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI)

Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI)

Heat is the single biggest use of energy in our society. We use more energy for heating than for transport or the generation of electricity.

The Domestic Renewable Heat Incentive is designed to encourage installation of renewable heat generating equipment for homeowners. Domestic tariff rates have been released and a guide is available from Ofgem.

Below Greg Barker discusses the technologies and states the goal of “Putting the UK at the forefront of innovation in the Renewable Heat Industry.”

Which Genfit technologies are eligible for domestic RHI

  • Biomass boilers (pellet/chip/log)
  • Solar thermal
  • Air/Ground Source Heat Pumps

Domestic RHI rates – Released April 2014

Air Source Heat Pump Biomass Ground Source Heat Pumps Solar Thermal
