Biomass generates heat energy through using wood for fuel, as opposed to fossil fuels such as oil and LPG.

GenFIT specialise in biomass boilers, which can be connected to the existing central heating and hot water system, in your home or commercial premises.

Benefits of Biomass

Cheaper fuel – If you are off-gas wood fuel offers considerable savings over oil, LPG and electricity.

Attractive return on investment – Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) offers 12% index linked return on investment for commercial installations, and the Renewable Heat Premium Payment (RHPP) provides a £950 grant for a domestic system.

Reduce your Carbon Footprint – Wood is a ‘Carbon Neutral’ fuel as the same amount of CO2 is released when burning, as was absorbed by the plant during its’ lifetime.

Financial Incentives

There are attractive financial incentives available in the UK for installation of biomass systems.

Domestic off-gas users can qualify for the Renewable Heat Premium Payment, which offer a grant of £950 towards the cost of a small-scale biomass system. The domestic element of the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI), which is due to be launched in late 2012, will offer additional payments to eligible installations for 20 years.

Commercial users can benefit from RHI now, with a typical return on investment of 12% in addition to reduced fuel costs. The RHI guaranteed for 20 years and is linked to RPI making biomass for commercial sites attractive as both a financial and environmental investment.
